Preview Photos

The first photo in your listing is called a preview photo and it appears in summary list views and on Google Maps.

The preview photo is the most important image in your listing as it entices visitors to click on your ad rather than a competitor's.

Landscape Vs. Portrait

Use a landscape image (wider than it's tall) for your preview photo.

Portrait images used as preview photos are automatically  converted to landscape, resulting in a loss of quality and distortion.

Image Size

The ideal image size is around 750 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. When you upload images, three versions are automatically created: small, medium and large.

If an image is too small, the larger versions will distort. If an image is too large it will take longer to upload and in extreme cases may fail to upload altogether.

Aspect Ratio

An image's aspect ratio is its width compared to its height. Landscape photos from digital cameras should be fine. However, thin logos may need cropping to avoid distortion.

Ideal aspect ratios range from 4:3 (norm in digital cameras) to 5:4. In pixels, anywhere around 800x600 or 750x600 would be perfect.

Uploading Your Photos

Uploading photos to your ad is quick and easy. Simply login to your Leisure Directories account and select the "My Ads & Profile" tab. Click "Photos" to the right of your ad listing and follow the on screen instructions.
